Welcome to the page where modesty goes out the window…

I’m pretty cool, and I will bring bucket loads of enthusiasm and hype energy to your wedding. Everyone needs a hype girl on their wedding day, someone to dance with you on the dance floor (although I always seem to get adopted by mums on the dace floor which I love).

I want you to feel like I’m an old friend, someone you can relax around and be yourselves. So the best way to achieve that is to tell you some bits about myself and how I got here.

More about my style

Enough about me, let’s talk about WHAT I do!

My style is based on prompted photography, not traditional posed photography. No holding cheesy smiles for 10 minutes. I’d rather ask you both to describe a funny story that’s happened to you both, or how you felt seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day. Prompts bring unique reactions between couples from romance to laughter, allowing me to capture real emotions, rather than a smile that isn’t totally genuine. I know you’ll be happy and smiling on your wedding day but there’s a huge difference to having a natural smile on your face rather than one “just for the camera”. I can guarantee you’ll be belly laughing during your couples portrait session. Although I have a more relaxed approach to weddings, I study my backdrops thoroughly and ensure things are perfectly placed particularly during couple portraits and group shots! It’s vital that this part of the day is somewhat controlled and finding the right light and backdrop is essential.

What makes me different from other photographers, is that I’m not afraid to interact with your guests. I don’t stand 50 feet away with a long lens looking like a weirdo in the corner not talking to people… I want your guests to feel comfortable with me, and I’ve found that the only way to truly have a group of people you’ve never met before to be comfortable around you…is to introduce yourself and be in the moment WITH them. Laugh with them, cry with them (I’m a sucker for emotional speeches and first dances). I want people to look back on their wedding gallery and feel like they’re stood right there, not looking in from the outside.

I am empathetic that not everyone likes their picture taken, however nearly every couple I’ve ever worked with has said they’re camera shy and guess what…They absolutely SMASH it on the day and even relax enough to throw in some romantic poses like a dip kiss or a dress twirl. You’ll see I LOVEEE a dip kiss shot. Every couple secretly wants a little Vogue moment ;)

It’s all about being comfortable, getting on with your photographer, and having that guidance to relax and be yourselves. Also if you like obscure Anchorman and Step Brothers quotes then just book me straight away because we’re a perfect match.

A bit more about me and why I’m cool

If you’re still reading this then kudos to you because I can ramble on….

Growing up I was obsessed wildlife and wanted to be a National Geographic filmmaker would you believe…During my teenage years an early 20’s my love of travelling took me round the world from Thailand, India and Sri Lanka for wildlife photography, to Japans cherry blossom and Norway & Iceland for the northern lights. Travel is a huge part of my life and the only continent I’m left to visit is Antarctica! Winter is my time to escape the crazy business of weddings and you’ll often see me winding down in January, ready to hop on a plane to Thailand.

I have a whopping 10 years (and counting) of experience in the wedding industry, it’s safe to say I’ve photographed every weather, tonnes of different venues with different lighting and challenges. Weddings with just the couple…to weddings with 200+ guests…and of course a load of awesome couples! With many more to come.

I'm not just a wedding photographer, I'm your emergency seamstress, dress doer-upper and touch up make up artist. I'm the calming voice when the button holes are late or it starts raining, I'm your emergency pharmacy stocked up with paracetamol, and most importantly, I'm the person you can rely on to capture your day as naturally as possible.

I’m your professional hype girl!

PS: I will also bring snacks. Lots of snacks.

3 Reasons why I love Wedding Photography

My EPIC couples!

From the moment you book with me, that’s it…I’m your friend. I want to hear how you met, what your fave hobbies are, your fave foods and what you want your wedding day to be.

It’s an amazing feeling transforming a couples mind set from being camera shy, to loving that experience of being in front of a camera, and truly relaxing and enjoying themselves.

You guys keep me doing what I love!

Having creative freedom

I will do whatever it takes to get the shot.

Having creative freedom on the day means I never get bored. I’m always thinking of new ideas, spotting a beautiful patch of light and getting excited over my brain seeing the final product before I’ve even shot it, running over and grabbing you both for a quick 5 minutes if the sun has that golden glow in the evening. Things like this keep photographers on their toes, and I’m always looking for that perfect opportunity. There’s always some photography cogs spinning in my brain no matter where I am.

Appreciating every detail…

I get to capture the most important day for you, and that feeling never changes. It’s truly wonderful. We often take things for granted, even though I see countless weddings per year, I never forget that these moments mean the world to you. Seeing granddad in a suit for the first time in years…A first look with your bridesmaids or parents. It’s not every day we put on our finest clothes and gather together. The pandemic showed us that we should really cherish every moment, and being able to see our loved ones and friends. It’s brought a whole new depth to what I do and family memories are a vital part of a wedding, not just the couple portraits!

Kind words…
